Behringer DDM4000 - The big guns are now out
Whew what a month, we've have had our hands full with gigs, remixing and writing several blogs for the site.
With a very clear 32bit digital sound output and various effects assignable to individual channels such as a highpass / lowpass filter, notch filter and bit crusher effect, as well as tempo effects like Echo, Delay, Reverse Delay, Pan, Transform, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Reverb, Robot, Chorus, Roll and Reverse Roll.
Don't get us wrong we love Pioneer buuttt.... (Andrew personally owns a DJM800 so he's probably going to kick my ass for plugging my own mixer.)Behringer who until recently provided mixers that were relatively cheaper and more entry level type mixers decided to make something a little more in depth and boy did they rock the socks off DJ's around the world.
Meet my DDM-4000...
With a price tag roughly one third the price of the DJM800 it certainly has a "value for money" edge that most DJ's can't look past and when I eventually road tested the 32 bit digital sound I think the first words out of my mouth were, "Clear as Krystal".Now me being a Gidget (Gadget Idiot) I found all the pretty lights all over this mixer very hypnotizing however i was very stoked to find out that they all have sensational uses and although I never read the user manual I've managed to glean almost all functions out of this wonderful piece of tech. With optical faders that will never wear out you can slam a fader as hard as you like a million times and it won't break internals. This is an absolute god send for turntablists and for people who like to smack their mixer round a bit. It features a stunning dual FX section that includes patented BPM counting technology. This allows the mixer to read/display the BPM of 2 different inputs and to apply BPM-synchronized effects, such as an echo synced to the beat of the music. Effects such as bitcrusher, reverb, delay, pitch shift, and more are available, and can be assigned independently to multiple channels. Two effects on the one channel even!!!!! Ahhh can you say BONER!!!!Also one really cool feature is the ability to setup your mixer the way you want it and then save the preferences via the digital display and the next time you turn on your mixer your setting will be there ready for you to use!! Really handy if multiple DJ's are using the same mixer.
Below is a little intro from the boys at storedj.com.au as to what makes this mixer an absolute dream to work with.

Wolfgang Gartner - God or DJ?
WE R DJS Crew!!!
Stop the press we've done our first Artist/Music Review!!
Rumblings around the dance music industry have given truly epic reviews about a fresh new artist who over the last two years has altogether redefined the sound of Electro/Tech house.
Wolfgang Gartner, (real name: Joey Youngman), is a Californian electro / tech house producer and DJ currently based in Austin, Texas.
Our first thought was "A Texan that can mix and produce?? Pffftttt......"
How wrong were we you might ask?...... in one word.. VERY!
The first time we heard one of Wolfgang Gartner's tracks it was like having all our Xmas's come at once... you think we are joking?? Read below :-)
Wolfgang's music consists of a perfect blend of bleeps, crunches and awe inspiring basslines that can turn your legs to jelly and give you an a musical aneurysm before the tracks even gets to the chorus!!
That was our first impression of Wolfy's remix of Andy Cadwell's "Funk Nasty".
A producer with an serious commitment to his studio he has banged out tons of records since 2009 and in the last two years he has proven without a doubt that he can go the distance with no tracks lacking in quality or the ability to rock a dancefloor HARD!
Some of WE R DJS Wolfgang favorites include:
Me, Myself & I. Undertaker, Flashback & Montezuma.
All the above tracks have the uncanny ability to turn a dancefloor upside down and toss the occupants round like ragdolls bending them to the DJ's will.
Jay Dee (We R DJS)
"I personally got to meet him quickly @ Future Music Brisbane in 2009 and even got him to sign my future ticket, Was totally stoked that i got to meet one of the truly inspiring artists of today and tomorrow!"
My girl dancing round to Wolfgang, so proud of her :-) |

Just Released Today
Wolfgang has just released the the very thought provoking video
for his smoking hot new tune: ILLMERICA!!!
for his smoking hot new tune: ILLMERICA!!!
It has a very insane but truthful view on the USA and its past.
We're not saying this track will be huge in the US but it sure does have some
interesting visuals that will leave you stunned.
Waiting on a comment from him as to whether he had a hand in the visual aspect of the piece.
The song itself is absolutely amazing and we know this
track will grace our turntables for some months to come.
Look out for Wolfgang Gartner releases on Beatport & in records stores as this is one artist that is only going to get bigger and bigger.
Stay tuned to our blog as we will be releasing some live sets for you all to enjoy later this week!!!

EPIC DJ FAILS
Hi Crew,
Todays post is just to show you that even the famous and some not so famous djs get it wrong from time to time and that despite some damn good evidence that DJ'S are not Gods but are in fact mere men and women and capable of making mistakes.
David Guetta gets nailed when a DJ's worse nightmare comes true and the CD screws up.
Truly Epic, David we feel your pain!!
One half of the Crookers certainly gets his nose bent out of shape when
attempting a stagedive at last years Stereosonic festival.
This not so famous DJ makes an epic fail when he plays the wrong song for the bridal departure.
Fast forward to 8:20 and you'll see what i mean, Epic Epic Epic Fail!!
This amateur DJ destroys it all, LITERALLY!!

A History...
Hey party crew Jay Dee here, this is our first official blog!!
So excited to be doing this and to be sharing this all with you!
There's three things we want to do with this blog...
So excited to be doing this and to be sharing this all with you!
There's three things we want to do with this blog...
- Firstly to give you an idea of who WE R DJS are and what we do.
- Secondly to provide you the latest music reviews & Dj tech reviews
- Thirdly to let you know when we will be playing near you
Within the Gold Coasts dance scene, our company WE R DJS has currently bookings from ear to ear and with our enthusiasm in filling a dance floor shows no sign of slowing down.
We have a passion for music that envies the likes of Ludwig van Beethoven himself.
We give our audience an inspiring sound, whether it be dirty sleazy electro, funky house, or a soulful house session out on the deck, and love to get a crowd going by playing quality tracks with first class production.
We will take you to another level and always aim to please the dance-floor and to leave you panting for breath.
A little about me myself, I've been a DJ for many years and have experience in and outside of the gold coast club scene, I starting mixing at the very impressionable age of just 13 when I was approached in Melbourne at rollerskating centre. Think "man with the golden voice" but cleaner and alot younger.
After a few years behind an old set of decks I ventured into the world of mobile dj's and found I had passion for keeping a crowds hands help up high and the dancefloor pumping.
After years of honing my skills in the finer arts of turntablism and learning a thing or two from some of australia's great DJs. I was playing in Under 18's including Club Central, Insane, Koko's and many many many more.
Soon enough I hit that wonderful age, 18, I found myself playing in the clubs of Surfers Paradise.
Having a 2 year residency at Penthouse and playing nightly on both levels to a packed out house was incredible for me as a young kid, I used to love watching the crowd go nuts as I mashed together a blend of fresh new tunes and give my clubbers a place to come to bust out a groove.
During this time I was discovered by a talent agent from Asia and was contracted for a 6 month tour.
Playing to insane amounts of people in another country? Hmmmmm...... do i have to say Yes? Passport Check, records Check!. I was playing music the first night I got into Seoul.
More stories on that particular trip later :-)
Fast forward to 2011 and you'll now see us recording some of our own music some of which you will hear here first.
I now run and operates WE R DJ'S and my passion for new fresh tunes is as strong as the day I started.
In 2010 a partnership evolved in between Myself and a DJ that had stepped up to the decks at a friends party and blew my mind.
Andrew "Dow" Waite has been a bedroom banger for years and knows the scene well among Gold Coast DJ's and socialites alike, Huge man that he is, Dow makes Carl Cox look like a midget behind the decks.
He plays a style that can only be described as a perfect blend of Electro/Progressive that wakes you up like taking that first sip of a Zarraffa's coffee first thing in the morning.
Working together we have managed so much more in 2010 than we ever thought possible on our own.
Expect many more big things from WE R DJ's in 2011 with electro releases coming soon from myself,
some of which you will hear here first.
WE R DJ's has also been hard at work on our new website with new live sets and club spots so stay tuned and let us feel the love by subscribing to our blog and our facebook page!!
